Woodworking Machines
Woodworking machines from FDB Maschinen, Proma, Holzstar and Holzmann for joinery shops, furniture production and workshops. The range is split by operation: panel saws and table saws, spindle moulders, band saws, thicknessers and jointers, edge banders, wood lathes and combination machines, plus dust extractors. Models are available for 220 V and 380 V supply.

How to choose a woodworking machine
From the operation to the machine
Chipboard, MDF and plywood are cut on a panel saw with a sliding carriage, solid wood is ripped on a circular saw bench or band saw. Planing to thickness is done on a thicknesser, flattening the reference face on a jointer. Profiles and grooves on edges need a spindle moulder, turned parts a wood lathe, and banding panel edges an edge bander.
Combination or separate machines
A combination machine puts a saw, jointer, thicknesser and spindle moulder on one frame. It takes less space and costs less than a set of separate machines, which suits small workshops. In a shop with steady workload separate machines are more convenient: there is no changeover between operations and several people can work at once.
Power supply
220 V machines can go into a garage or small workshop, 380 V models need a three-phase supply but have stronger motors for long runs in hardwood. Before buying, check what load your line and circuit breaker can carry, especially when a machine and a dust extractor will run at the same time.
Dust and chips
Thicknessers, jointers and spindle moulders produce a lot of chips, panel cutting produces fine dust. A dust extractor connected to the machine port keeps the workplace clean, reduces wear on knives and bearings and is needed for fire safety in the shop. Size the extraction capacity to the port diameters and the number of machines.
