Metalworking Machines
Metalworking machines for production floors, workshops and repair shops. The section is split into lathes, drill presses, milling machines, sharpening and grinding machines including belt grinders, band saws and chop saws, threading machines, presses, and sheet benders, rolls and shears. Brands are FDB Maschinen, Optimum, Proma and Metallkraft, with 230 V models for workshops and three-phase 400 V machines for production.

How to choose a metalworking machine
From the operation to the machine type
The operation decides the machine. Shafts, bushings, threads and faces are turned on a lathe. Holes are drilled on a drill press, and large heavy parts on a radial drill. Slots, faces and steps are milled on a milling or drill-mill machine. Bar stock is cut to length on a band saw, and drills and cutters are restored on sharpening machines. Pressing in, straightening and bending sheet need presses, plate rolls and folders.
Part size sets the machine class
First write down the largest parts you plan to machine and add a margin. For a lathe that means swing over bed and distance between centres; for a drill press, drilling capacity in steel and throat depth; for a milling machine, table size and axis travel; for a band saw, the largest cross-section. A machine that always works at its limit wears faster and holds accuracy worse.
230 or 400 V supply
Bench and small machines often run on single-phase 230 V and can go into a garage or workshop. More powerful shop machines are mostly three-phase 400 V. Before buying, check which supply is available on site and how much power the line can deliver. Many models come in both versions - confirm the supply when you order.
Weight, installation and tooling
A heavy machine with a cast-iron bed holds accuracy better but needs a strong floor, sometimes a foundation, and equipment for unloading. Allow for footprint, service access and chips. Plan the tooling at once: chucks, vises, drill chucks, cutters, blades and coolant. We can help choose a machine for your parts and premises.
