Description
The Holzstar HBS 231-1 is a compact benchtop band saw for wood, made for small parts in a joinery workshop or furniture shop. A narrow 6-10 mm blade allows curved cuts as well as straight ones. The cast iron table tilts to 45 deg, and there is a rip fence, a mitre gauge and a built-in work light.

Technical description:
The compact benchtop Wood band saw Holzstar HBS 231-1 belongs to the group of low-output joinery band saws and is best suited for making small one-off parts in a joinery workshop or furniture shop. For home DIYers, the band saw Holzstar HBS 231-1 is also a good fit, primarily due to its optimal price/quality ratio.
- The blade is driven by two die-cast aluminium pulleys. To prevent damage to the blade teeth, the pulleys have a protective coating on the working surface.
- The guides control the blade movement, keeping it within the cutting zone. The blade tensioning system allows the cutting mode to be set for optimal cut quality and prevents damage to the blade.
- The band saw work table is made of cast iron, has a ground surface and is fitted with a rip fence for ripping workpieces. For angle cuts, a miter gauge can be fitted and the work table tilted up to 45°.
- As the Holzstar HBS 231-1 blade is 6-10 mm wide, it can make not only radial cuts but also more complex curved cuts.
- The work area of the table is lit by a built-in machine lamp.
