Description

The Vistan 16VT20P is a higher-precision general-purpose screw-cutting lathe for a wide range of turning work. This metal lathe turns and bores cylindrical and tapered surfaces, drills, countersinks and reams holes, and cuts external and internal threads. Hardened ground bed ways, pneumatic tailstock unloading and rapid carriage traverse make heavy workpieces easier to handle.

Main data: 500 mm swing over bed and 275 mm over cross slide, 1000 mm (16VT20P-21) or 1500 mm (16VT20P-22) between centres, 55 mm spindle bore, 12.5-1600 rpm, 11 kW main drive. The gearbox cuts metric, inch, module and pitch threads without changing gears. A higher-precision lathe for plant machine shops and repair production.

These high-precision universal screw-cutting lathes are designed for a wide range of turning work: external turning and boring of internal cylindrical and tapered surfaces, drilling, countersinking and reaming, as well as cutting external and internal metric, inch, module and diametral pitch threads.
The lathes are made with a distance between centres of 1000 mm - 16VT20P-21 and 1500 mm - 16VT20P-22.
Design features:
  • The design and specifications of the lathes ensure high-quality machining of parts from various materials with modern cutting tools at optimal cutting conditions.
  • Rigid 4-position tool post.
  • Hardened and ground bed guideways ensure a long service life and higher machining accuracy.
  • Pneumatic tailstock unloading.
  • The apron has its own rapid traverse drive for the carriage and cross slide and allows working to stops, with automatic feed disengagement on contact with the stop when the load on the rack pinion increases.
  • The feed gearbox has a highly rigid kinematic chain and allows threads (including 11 and 19 TPI) to be cut without changing the change gears.
  • Guards for the cutting zone and chuck plus electrical and mechanical interlocks ensure safe operation.
