How to choose machine tool accessories
Levelling mounts: load and thread
Anti-vibration mounts go under a machine instead of anchor bolts: they damp vibration, protect the floor and let you level the machine with the adjusting screw. Choose them by load per mount - divide the machine weight by the number of support points and add a margin for dynamic loads. The screw thread must also match the holes in the base, for example M12. For machines with impact loads, such as presses, take mounts with a larger margin.
Coolant systems
Cutting fluid removes heat from the cutting zone, extends tool life and improves surface finish. A separate coolant system is a tank, pump, hose and nozzle, fitted to machines without built-in cooling. Check the pump voltage (230 or 400 V), tank volume and hose length. The emulsion has to be cleaned of chips and sludge regularly, which is what filters and centrifuges are for.
Parts for radial drill presses
For 2M55, 2A554 and related radial drill presses there are the main friction clutch, the hydraulic preselector and the spindle counterweight spring. When ordering, check the machine model and the part number in the machine manual: parts can differ between versions. These units work together with other parts, so with heavy wear inspect the neighbouring gears and seals too. If the manual is lost, send a photo of the nameplate and the assembly and we will help identify the part.
Roller bearings for slideways and friction linings
Roller bearing units are fitted in the slideways of heavy tables and carriages: the rollers replace sliding friction, so the table moves easily and without sticking. Choose them by size and rated load, and replace them as a set so all units have the same height and the table does not tilt. Friction linings and inserts for forging and pressing equipment are wear parts of clutches and brakes; when replacing them, compare dimensions and hole count with the old linings.
