Description
The OPTIdrill RD4 radial drilling machine handles drilling, reaming and tapping. It is an industrial metal drill press with a ribbed cast iron arm, a steel column and a convenient control panel. The head travels along the arm, and the arm height is adjusted by an electric motor through a worm gear.
What matters for choosing: drilling in steel up to 32 mm, 3 kW motor, MT4 spindle taper, 6 speed steps from 73 to 1247 rpm, 400 V supply, net weight about 1120 kg. It has a depth stop with a millimetre scale, an electric spindle brake and an LED work light. The model suits machining and repair shops that need rigid and accurate drilling.
Technical description:
- OPTIdrill RD 4 radial drill has a wide range of applications and is designed for drilling, counter-drilling and tapping.
- The RD 4 radial drill is fitted with a powerful 3 kW industrial motor.
- The heavy cast design of the drill provides high rigidity and therefore accuracy when drilling.
- The drill head is moved along the arm and locked in the required position.
- The radial drill has a convenient control panel.
- Open access to the workpiece from all sides.
- The cast arm is made of cast iron with stiffening ribs.
- The arm height on the OPTIdrill RD 4 radial drill is adjusted by a powerful electric motor and a worm gear.
- The arm raising and lowering sleeve runs in an oil bath.
- On the OPTIdrill RD 4 radial drill the arm guideways are properly hardened and precision ground.
- The mechanical gearbox is made of chrome-nickel steel, heat-treated and ground, for quiet and smooth operation.
- Separate clamping of the column and the drill unit on the arm.
- Forward and reverse spindle rotation.
- The coolant system is built into the base of the radial drill.
- The table has parallel T-slots.
- A machine lamp with a flexible swivel base is fitted.
- The radial drill has motor overload protection.
- The thick-walled steel column ensures smooth travel and stability.
- The machine has an adjustable drilling depth stop with a millimetre scale.
- Electric spindle brake.
- All axes are clamped manually.
- The column and head are locked by a hydraulic clamp.
Each machine has:
- LED lamp.
- 24 V control circuit.
- The handwheel is in the centre of the control panel.
- Rapid tool approach.
- Hardened and ground
- Large size
The radial drills comply with DIN EN 55011: Class A
