Description
The 04316 instrument determines the gas permeability of moulding and core sands from the ability of a sample to let air pass through it. It tests damp sand as well as green, dry or hardened mixtures. Permeability is one of the properties checked in a moulding materials laboratory.
The instrument is bell-type, with measuring ranges of 10-50 and 50-1000 units, 980 Pa pressure under the bell and error up to 5%. It weighs 14 kg and measures 295x275x550 mm. It suits shop-floor and plant laboratories for moulding materials.
The 04316 gas permeability tester is a bell-type instrument that determines the gas permeability of mixtures.
PURPOSE
The tester determines the gas permeability of mixtures in various states: wet sand; wet or dry, hardened molding and core mixtures. The method is based on determining the ability of a specimen to let air pass through it.
APPEARANCE
The housing of the bell-type gas permeability tester is made of metal. The lower part is a rectangular box with a metal cylinder on top. There is a handle at the end of the cylinder. The front of the box carries an instrument panel and an operating mode selector. Next to the cylinder, on the box, there is a bell (valve) for releasing air.
