Description
The Proma PPK-115U metal band saw cuts structural steel, aluminium and non-ferrous metals: pipe, profiles, angle and bar. A small band saw machine like this suits jobs where metal has to be cut to length without heavy equipment - in a repair shop, a workshop or on a building site.
At 90° it cuts 110 mm round or 120 x 110 mm, 100 mm round at 45°, and it has a vertical cutting mode. The 370 W motor runs on 230 V at 20-29-50 m/min, the blade is 1640 x 13 x 0.6 mm and the saw weighs 88 kg. It suits fitters' and repair workshops, small production sites and installation crews.
Various versions of metal-cutting band saws are produced today. This equipment is highly functional: it cuts round bar, angles, pipes and channels into blanks of set dimensions, and does so continuously. The band saw can work with non-ferrous metals, stainless and alloy steel, and cast iron. It can also bundle-cut small-section workpieces.
Band saws come in three main types:
- manual (manual frame lift and vise);
- semi-automatic (automatic frame lift and hydraulic vise);
- automatic (with automatic workpiece feed into the cutting zone).
Most machines have a swivel frame for cutting at different angles. The PPK-115U PROMA can also cut vertically.
