Description
The FDB Maschinen BS21 multi-spindle boring machine drills through and blind holes in the edges and faces of furniture panels and solid parts. Two multi-spindle heads, one of which is turned to 0, 45 or 90 degrees by a pneumatic cylinder, allow boring for cam fittings in one setup. The part is held by four pneumatic clamps operated from a foot pedal.
Selection data: spindles at 32 mm pitch, quick-change collets (8 supplied), pneumatic head feed and drilling depth set by a manual stop. Motors 2×1.5 kW, 380 V, 2840 rpm, weight 450 kg. Designed for furniture production.
Boring machine FDB Maschinen BS21 is designed for high-precision drilling of through and blind holes in the edges and faces of furniture panels and bar parts. The machine has two multi-spindle drilling heads, one of which swivels. The drilling spindles are mounted in a row on the heads at a fixed standard pitch of 32 mm. For edge drilling the head is positioned horizontally. For face drilling the head is turned 90 deg. to vertical by a pneumatic cylinder, with machining done from below. The workpiece is clamped by vertical pneumatic cylinders controlled by a floor pedal. Four pneumatic clamps hold the part securely in the working area; drilling depth is set with a special manual adjuster.
Drilling for cam fittings in a single setup of the part. Significantly reduces machining time and almost doubles productivity compared with 21-spindle boring machines
Equipment:
The machine has one swivelling multi-spindle head with drilling spindles mounted in a row at a fixed pitch of 32 mm, and one vertically fixed multi-spindle head that can be moved;
The swivelling drilling unit is turned to the required angle - 0°, 45°, 90° - by a pneumatic cylinder;
Additional pneumatic dampers brake the adjustable spindle head when it swivels;
The spindles have quick-release collets for tool changes;
Feed and working stroke of the multi-spindle heads are pneumatic;
Standard equipment includes 8 quick-release collets;
Working units:
Drilling faces and edges of the workpiece
For face drilling, the vertically oriented spindle head is used, or the universal spindle group is set to the vertical position. For edge drilling, the universal spindle head must be set to horizontal. Pneumatic clamps for quick clamping of workpieces up to 60 mm thick are air-operated, so no manual adjustment is needed.
Spindle cross-beam
For edge drilling, the universal spindle head is set horizontally. For face drilling, the spindle head is turned 90° to vertical, with feed from below. An intermediate 45° tilt of the spindle group is also possible
