Description
The UDG D-250A universal dividing head is a milling machine attachment that rotates a workpiece held in a chuck or between centres to any angle and divides a circle into equal or custom parts. It is used to cut spur gears, helical gears, worm shafts, spiral slots and Archimedean spirals.
With a different tool the head can also be used on grinding machines. The D-250 size is chosen to match the workpiece size and the machine table width. Made in China. It suits tool rooms, repair and machining shops that regularly mill splines, gear teeth and flats.
Universal dividing heads are among the most important accessories for milling machines.
• With a dividing head, a part held between centers or clamped in a chuck can be rotated to any desired angle and divided into any number of equal or arbitrary parts.
• With various types of tooling, dividing heads can also be used on grinding machines; they make it possible to turn grooves and cut gears, helical gears, worm shafts, Archimedean spirals, helical slots and more.
