Description
The KG2011-6 hoist fan is a bladed steel disc fan carrying a friction brake pad. It is part of the lifting motor brake on a Bulgarian electric hoist: when power is cut, the disc with the pad presses against the fan cover and stops the motor. Replacing it is simple: remove the fan cover with its grille, undo the adjusting nut and fit the new fan.
Designation KG2011-6, catalogue number 280119, made in Bulgaria, 12-month warranty. Fan size depends on hoist capacity and motor type, so check the motor type before ordering. After fitting, the brake is set with the adjusting nut to the normal axial travel of the rotor. Suited to repair services and plants running Bulgarian hoists.
The fan with brake lining assembly consists of the disc fan and the brake lining. It is part of the brake in the hoisting motor of the Bulgarian electric hoist. The fan disc itself consists of bladed segments and is made of steel alloy. The brake lining, made of friction material, is fitted onto it.
Fans of different overall sizes are used depending on the load capacity and motor type. Motors of 0.5/1 t electric hoists have identical fans and, accordingly, identical brake linings. The same applies to fans for motors of 2/3.2 t electric hoists. 5 t and 8 t electric hoists have fans of different sizes that are bulkier.
Replacing the fan in the motor is fairly easy. Remove the fan cover together with the guard, unscrew the adjusting nut and remove the old fan. Install the new fan in its place, then screw on the adjusting nut. At this stage the brake must be adjusted, i.e. normal axial play must be achieved. This is done by backing off the adjusting nut by 1⁄4 to 1⁄2 turn from the fixed position. Once adjusted, refit the fan cover with the guard and secure them in their standard position.
