Description
The KG1608-6 fan assembly is a disc fan with a brake lining fitted, and it forms part of the lifting motor brake in Bulgarian electric hoists. The disc is made of steel alloy segments with blades, the lining of friction material. Fan size depends on the hoist capacity and motor type, so it is chosen by type.
Type KG1608-6, catalogue number 345045. Replacement is simple: remove the cover with the grille, undo the adjusting nut, fit the new fan and set the axial play. Suitable for repair services and workshops running Bulgarian hoists.
The fan with brake lining assembly consists of the disc fan itself and the brake lining. It is part of the brake in the hoisting motor of a Bulgarian electric hoist. The fan disc is made of segments with blades in steel alloy. The brake lining, made of friction material, is mounted on it.
Fans of different overall dimensions are used depending on the load capacity and motor type. Electric hoist motors with a load capacity of 0.5/1 t use the same fans and therefore the same brake linings. The same applies to fans for electric hoist motors with a load capacity of 2/3.2 t. Hoists of 5 t and 8 t use fans of other, bulkier sizes.
Replacing the fan in the electric motor is fairly easy. Remove the fan cover together with the grille, unscrew the adjusting nut and remove the old fan. Install the new fan in its place, then screw the adjusting nut back on. At this stage the brake must be adjusted, i.e. the normal axial travel must be reached. This is done by unscrewing the adjusting nut by ¼ to ½ turn from the fixed position. Once the adjustment is done, put the fan cover with the grille back on and fix them in their standard position.
