Description
The KG2011-6 rotor is the conical squirrel-cage rotor of the lifting motor on Bulgarian T-series electric hoists. It has axial travel: when the motor stops, a spring on the shaft shifts the rotor by 1-3 mm and the fan with its brake pad presses against the fan cover. When voltage is applied, the magnetic field pulls the rotor into the stator, the brake releases and the rotor turns.
Designation KG2011-6, catalogue number 280042, made in Bulgaria. After replacement the rotor must be adjusted for axial travel, otherwise the brake and motor wear faster. A part for repair services and plants that rebuild Bulgarian hoist motors.
The hoisting motor of the Bulgarian T-series electric hoist has a conical squirrel-cage rotor with axial play. A cylindrical coil spring is fitted on the rotor shaft. When the motor is switched off, the spring shifts the rotor 1-3 mm to the left. As a result, the fan with the conical brake lining fitted on it is pressed against the surface of the cast-iron fan cover and thus brakes the motor. When voltage is applied to the motor, a very strong magnetic field is created, under which the rotor overcomes the brake spring force and is drawn into the stator. The fan disc and lining then move away from the cover, and the rotor is released and starts to rotate.
When the rotor reaches the stop, a nominal gap forms between it and the stator. The movement of the rotor within this distance is called the rotor axial play. It changes as the brake lining wears. This distance must be monitored and adjusted in good time if it deviates from the specified values.
When the rotor is replaced, it must be adjusted correctly to ensure long motor life.
