Description

This hoist brake pad is the conical friction lining of the lifting motor brake on Bulgarian T-series electric hoists. It is fixed to the fan disc with epoxy adhesive and rivets; when power is cut, the pad presses against the cast-iron fan cover and stops the motor. A worn friction lining should be replaced once its thickness drops to 1.5 mm.

This pad is for 3.2 t hoists. Thickness 8 mm, smaller diameter 219 mm, larger diameter 234 mm, catalogue number 43084, made in Bulgaria, 12-month warranty. After fitting, adjust the brake before putting the hoist back to work. Suited to repair services, workshops and warehouses running mid-capacity Bulgarian hoists.

The brake lining (also called the friction lining) for the Bulgarian T-series electric hoist is part of the motor brake and is installed between the fan and the fan cover. It is a fast-wearing part of the motor brake, made of friction material and cone-shaped. The braking torque itself is produced by the disc fan braking against the cast-iron fan cover. This happens because the rotor has axial play: when power is applied it is drawn in and the motor brake is released, and when power is switched off the motor is braked automatically.

The condition of the lining must be monitored during operation of the electric hoist. When the brake (friction) lining wears down to a thickness of 1.5 mm, it must be replaced. To do this:

1.       Remove the cover and the fan guard attached to it;

2.       Unscrew the adjusting nut;

3.       Remove the fan and replace the worn brake lining with a new one, which is fixed to the fan disc with epoxy adhesive and rivets;

4.       Install the fan, then screw on the rear adjusting nut;

5.       Install the fan cover with the fan guard attached.

After replacing the lining, check the brake operation and adjust it; only then can the hoist be operated in the appropriate duty mode.
