## Description

Technical description:
- The quantum series is intended for home use, garages and home workshops.
- Spindle of the drill press OPTIdrill DQ 16 is driven by a 0.45 kilowatt motor via a belt drive.
- Precisely made aluminum pulleys with subsequent grinding ensure smooth running, and quality belts prevent slipping and power loss.
- Mounting the spindle on precision bearings ensures high rotational accuracy within 250-2400 revolutions per minute and reduces radial runout to 0.03 millimeter.
- The belt drive is securely enclosed by a guard fitted with limit switches that trip when it is opened.
- The spindle end has a standard MK 2 taper bore, allowing cutting tools with the matching taper to be used without additional tooling.
- Drills, countersinks and reamers with straight shanks are held in a high-quality keyless drill chuck (3-16 mm) B 16.
- Clamping and drilling capabilities can be extended with 1-13, 1-16 mm MK2 chucks.
- Tools with MK 0-1 taper shanks are mounted using MK 2 - B 16 reducing sleeves.
- Accurate, high-quality drilling is done with titanium-coated drills.
- The spindle is switched on and off with buttons on a compact panel, next to which is an emergency stop button.
- Manual quill travel up to 60 mm.
- The work area is covered by a special transparent shield.
- Workpieces on the OPTIdrill DQ 16 drill press up to 300 mm are mounted on the compound table using clamps or the SPW 10 clamping kit. Diagonal slots are provided for this.
- Small parts can be held in BMS 85, BMS 100 machine vises or in fixtures. Fixtures are located using T-slot keys.
- The table is raised and lowered with a crank via a rack mounted along the column. For drilling holes in inclined planes the table can be tilted ±45° and rotated 360°. The column is cylindrical, 60 mm in diameter, and is rigidly bolted to a ribbed base for stability.
- Workpieces up to 500 mm high are mounted directly on the base, which has parallel slots for this.
