## Description

The Holzstar HBS 261-2 vertical band saw belongs to the small hobby-class joinery machines and is an optimal choice for a home craftsman or as training equipment in vocational schools, yet thanks to its reliable design and functionality the machine can also be used at production companies. The Holzstar HBS 261-2 band saw confidently cuts workpieces of wood, plastic and particle board, and with a suitable blade fitted it can cut aluminium.
· The blade of the Holzstar HBS 261-2 is a loop tensioned over the drive pulleys. The pulleys are made of aluminium with a protective coating on the working surfaces that prevents damage to the blade.
· High cutting quality is ensured by the guides, which hold the blade and prevent the cut line from drifting or wandering. The guide assembly includes support bearings above and below the work table. Adjusting the gap between the blade and the bearings controls the blade oscillation and determines the quality and accuracy of the cut.
· The work table of the Holzstar HBS 261-2 wood band saw is made of grey cast iron and has a ground surface that allows the workpiece to be fed smoothly into the cutting zone. For bevel cuts, the work table has a tilt mechanism up to 45°. A T-slot in the work table is provided for the miter gauge. By combining the table tilt and the miter gauge position, you can produce a part of the required shape.
· The rip fence with a magnifier over the scale and a quick-release handle allows the machine to be set accurately for ripping. The Holzstar HBS 261-2 wood band saw thus makes quality rip and angle cuts, and with a special jig also radial cuts.
· The work area is lit by a built-in machine lamp.
